About Shanghai New International Expo Centre

Shanghai New International Expo Centre, known as SNIEC, is an exhibition centre in China formed from an agreement between the German International Exhibition Group, and Shanghai Lujiazui Exhibition Development bringing together two nations and cultures. It is located in Shanghai Pudong, a principal city of business, finance, trade and information in the country, making SNIEC the perfect venue for big corporate events.

SNIEC holds an enormous amount of space in Shanghai, with impressive rooms worth a visit, Inside, an exhibition area covers 200,000 square metres, and outside presentations take place in an area of 100,000 square metres. The main appeal of SNIEC is for business people and company workers, serving as more than just a big space. Its purpose is to host corporate events, ranging from intimate social gatherings to large business meetings. However, it also puts on cultural exhibitions, more accessible to tourists with a range of conventions exhibiting a variety of things such as Chinese food, furniture, music and of course, business opportunities. The main attraction of SNIEC remains its immense vastness, a symbol of modern Chinese architecture celebrating enormous and extraordinary buildings. With the various cafes, fast food outlets, and even a supermarket, tourists could easily spend days exploring SNIEC.

There is a public transport interchange called Longyang Road Station only 600 metres from SNIEC, accessible via bus and metro, and from here is only a ten-minute walk to the building itself. Metro line 7 also goes directly to SNIEC by getting off at Huamu Road Station. Pudong International and Hongqiao Airports are close by and only a 35-minute drive from SNIEC, although there are various public transport systems, such as line 2 of the metro, also going to Longyang Road Station.

SNIEC opened in 2001 a prominent investment produced 17 exhibition centres, various conference rooms, even a hotel and subway station, resulting in one of best corporate event arenas in the world. Its appeal goes beyond business, as one of the halls became a tennis court to host the 2002 Tennis Masters Cup. With 5 million annual visitors and more than 100 international trade shows every year, it is an essential feature of Shanghai and the country of China.
