Located around one kilometre out of town, Dangar Falls tumbles 120 metres over a series of rocky shelves and into an emerald green pool. There's a shady picnic area to enjoy, while a colourful display of wildflowers blooms during spring.

For a glimpse at Australia's ancient rainforests, don't miss a chance to explore Dorrigo National Park. The Rainforest Centre offers a fantastic overview of the local ecosystem, while the Skywalk commands a bird's-eye view over the lush rainforest canopy. If you want to venture deep into the rainforest, the two-hour Wonga Walk winds its way past ancient trees and tumbling waterfalls.

Stretching for 185 kilometres, Waterfall Way is a scenic drive that climbs up the escarpment to Dorrigo from Bellingen. Along the way, you'll cruise past lush rainforests, dramatic river valleys and cascading waterfalls.

Dorrigo is anchored by a lively town centre where you'll find a cluster of shops, craft stores and cafes. The wood-fired pies from the Dorrigo Bakery are very tempting, while Dorrigo Wholefoods Cafe serves up a smorgasbord of healthy treats. If you're thirsty, sit down for a pint of local ale at the Heritage-listed Hotel Dorrigo.
