About Perisher Valley

A part of the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, Perisher Valley serves up scenic slopes, stunning alpine scenery and a fantastic après ski scene. Together with Smiggin Holes, Guthega and Blue Cow, it's one of Perisher's four key resorts and is a gateway to the Snowy Mountains.

Things to do in Perisher Valley

Snow sports are Perisher Valley's biggest drawcard. The region is part of the legendary Perisher ski resort, a sprawling complex with almost 50 lifts and over 1,200 hectares of skiable terrain. There are runs for every skill level, from bunny slope beginners to advanced riders.

For a change of scene, don't miss Perisher Valley's famous Tube Town. It's bound to get the adrenalin pumping, with riders towed up a hill then released and left to slip and slide their way down the slope.

In winter, Perisher Village is the beating heart of the resort with coffee shops, convenience stores, ski outfitters and tour agencies. You'll also find a great selection of restaurants serving up juicy steaks, pizzas and international cuisine.

Things don't slow down in the summer, when Perisher Valley attracts bushwalkers, mountain bikers and nature buffs. An extensive network of marked trails wind their way through Perisher's silvery snow gums and are a great place to spot possums, wombats and other local wildlife.

Getting around Perisher Valley

While Perisher Valley is easy to explore on foot, it's best to hire a car if you want to tour the rest of Kosciuszko National Park. In winter, the resort's Skitube alpine railway whisks passengers between Perisher Valley and Blue Cow, while shuttle buses also run to Smiggins Holes.
