About Centennial

Extending along the southeastern outskirts of Denver, Centennial is a modern municipality that was created in 2001, encompassing the neighbourhoods of Castlewood and Southglenn. It is named in honour of Colorado’s 1876 admission into the United States in what was the centennial year of the Declaration of Independence.

Things to do in Centennial

One of the city’s most popular green spaces is Centennial Center Park, which is home to two children’s play areas, three climbing walls and an outdoor amphitheatre. In the summer months, you can cool off at the nautilus-themed water playground. History buffs should follow the Colorado Statehood Walk, which is dotted with interpretive panels filled with interesting facts about the state.

Need a retail fix? Head to The Streets at SouthGlenn, a modern shopping mall with more than 80 retailers and a wide choice of eateries. You can browse the latest fashions at H&M and Old Navy or pick up homewares at Sur La Table and Artworks.
