Where to stay in Broulee

About Broulee

A charming seaside town near Bateman’s Bay, Broulee has a spectacular coastline, unspoilt sandy beaches and island sanctuary. Visitors can spot migrating whales and white-bellied sea eagles or hit the waters for surfing, snorkelling, kayaking and scuba diving.

Things to do

Broulee Beach is a mecca of activity, featuring family-friendly strips of sand and plenty of water sports. Try windsailing along the coast or surf the waves at Pinks Point. The beach is a popular spot for sand-side fishing as well, with anglers catching whiting, salmon and flathead.

Cross the sandbar from the beach to explore Broulee Island, a dedicated nature reserve established by the National Parks and Wildlife Office. Stroll along the four-kilometre-long Broulee Island Reserve Walk to spot coastal banksias, cliffside boobiallas and native plants, as well as migrating whales, dolphins and wild seabirds.

At Batemans Marine Park, embark on snorkelling expeditions or kayaking trips through creeks, bays and tunnels. Feel like going deeper? Venture a few minutes north of Broulee to Burrewarra Point, a well-known diving spot. If you’d rather stick to dry land, pedal along the North Head to Mossy Point Cycleway.

Back in town, stop by Mossy Café for specialties, such as organic acai bowls and bruschetta with pumpkin puree. In the evening, visit Tomakin for fresh local seafood and gourmet pizzas at JJ’s @ The Moorings. If the weather is nice, kick back in the beer garden and enjoy the live music and entertainment.

Getting around

Broulee sits about 10 minutes from Moruya, where you can pick up a rental car at Moruya Airport. Taxis are available for getting around town or you can hire a bicycle for exploring the coastline trails.
