If food is high on your agenda, start at Youngs Bar and Restaurant, where you can dine on European-style seafood and steak while enjoying an alfresco setting. Soek Seng 1954 Bicycle Café is the perfect spot for grabbing a coffee or light meal while watching planes land and take off at the nearby Seletar Airport.
Embrace the outdoors at Sengkang Riverside Park, known for its verdant wetlands filled with unique birdlife and mangroves. A wide boardwalk meanders through the park, giving you the perfect viewpoint to watch the marine animals and locals flying kites. Afterwards, head over to The Animal Resort, where you can feed friendly animals, including rabbits, cassowaries, horses and guinea pigs.
If you prefer life on the water, rent a kayak or windsurfing board from Seletar Water Sports Centre. Its positioned on Lower Seletar Reservoir, which has calm waters perfect for beginners. This reservoir also has an 18-hole championship golf course by the water’s edge at the Seletar Country Club.
Seletar makes an excellent base for shopping holidays, thanks to the modern Seletar Mall, which boasts over 130 dining and retail outlets, as well as a cinema. Shop for sporting goods at Royal Sporting House or affordable and fashionable clothing at Uniqlo, before indulging in Sushi, Texas-style chicken, pizza or Thai specialties at one of the on-site restaurants.
Seletar is serviced by multiple public bus interchanges and LRT stations on the West Loop, which provide reliable transport around the area and to neighbouring towns. You can also use taxis or a hired car to get around.
