Sporting magnificent modern architecture and top-tier dining, entertainment, pool and spa options, ARIA stands tall as a hip resort in the heart of the Strip. The vibe: Modern, gleaming and chic. Luxury on all levels What we love: ARIA Las Vegas opened at the end of 2009 and it still has that new car smell. The rooms are a tech lover's dream, featuring the latest gadgetry (keyless locks, personalized automation, etc.). Each room includes an in-room tablet where you'll have one-touch control of lighting, temperature, draperies, music, in-room dining and more. Simply put, you're the master of your domain at ARIA Las Vegas. Open year-round, the pool area at ARIA is like something out of the Garden of Eden. Three ellipse-shaped pools are spread across a palm tree-laden deck. Insider tips: Be an art lover. ARIA's got an impressive fine art collection, and you don't have to pay a museum admission cost to view it. Several pieces dot the property's indoor and outdoor public spaces. So spend the day exploring, it's totally worth it. Spend an afternoon at ARIA's Spa & Salon. There are some seriously unique amenities in here including a Shio salt room (its salt-infused air improves both your breathing and skin) and Ganbanyoku heated stone beds, which are unbelievably soothing to your muscles. Good to know: There isn't a bad room in the house. Since the price point is elevated here, why not just go all out and upgrade to one of the Sky Suites? With the one-bedroom penthouse, not only will you get postcard-worthy views and more flat-screen TVs than you'd find in an electronics store, but you'll enjoy extras like limousine transport from the airport, a personal concierge and access to the private Sky Suites Lounge, where you can indulge in drinks (yes, this includes alcohol) and snacks all day and night long. If you're thinking of smoking in your room at ARIA, don't. At checkout, you might find you've been hit with a $500-$1000 smoking restoration fee. Be aware that most of the resort's rooms (98 percent of them, only a few high roller suites have been exempted) are nonsmoking, so the only places you'll be able to light up are on the casino floor or in various bars. Parking at ARIA seems more confusing than it really is. The only way to access this garage is by turning off the Strip onto Aria Place. Follow the signs (there is no light) as these will indicate where the left turnoff is to a long ramp that goes down into the garage. This feels trickier than it is because you don't actually see the garage they guide you towards.  We also just want to add that ARIA is set way back from the Strip. Of course, most Vegas Strip resorts involve a walk to reach Las Vegas Boulevard, but this is one of the longer ones. To get to the Strip, you'll have to go through The Shops at Crystals or walk along a series of shops parallel to City Center Place and take a pedestrian bridge across to The Shops at Crystals. Think of it as your workout to burn off those buffet calories.

Vdara Hotel & Spa at Aria Las Vegas is an all-suite, non-smoking and non-gaming hotel that features a wonderful pool deck and luxury rooms. The vibe: Chic boutique, secluded and artsy with modern touches. What we love: Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas seriously feels like a peaceful retreat, right in the heart of the Strip. Each suite includes a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a separate soaking tub and walk-in shower and slick flat-screen TVs. Each suite also has a separate seating area, which makes your stay a lot more comfortable. If you want to do it big, the Panoramic Suites have a marvelous 270-degree view of the city.  Insider tips: Spend an evening at Vice Versa Patio & Lounge, which has a beautiful outdoor patio complete with swings, fire pits and a curved reflecting pool. Your biggest issue will be deciding where to sit. Vice Versa is also open in the afternoon where you can enjoy some refreshing seasonal cocktails. Good to know: Vdara doesn’t have a casino, nightclub, shopping plaza or showroom.  Keep in mind that Vdara is a non-smoking resort. At checkout, you will be fined a cleaning fee. If you want to light up, you'll need to do that next door at Aria's casino or bars.  One of the perks about the hotel not having a casino is you don’t have to worry about the smoke. Plus, this eliminates a lot of the noise, making Vdara a super relaxing hotel. Also, Bellagio and Aria are both a quick walk away, so you can get your casino, show and shopping fix here.

The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites merges a luxury resort with the amenities of a timeshare (like a kitchen) while giving you access to everything at the neighboring MGM Grand - including its casino, nightclubs, restaurants and pools. The vibe: The suite life with a touch of home, quiet and exclusive, a hideaway from the crowds of weekend partiers What we love: The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites is a nongaming, nonsmoking resort. This means there'll be no noisy slot machines and no clouds of smoke hovering about. Yes, everything - from the lobby to your suite - smells nice and clean. The balconies on select suites are awesome. If you're on a high floor, you could stay out on them for hours surveying all that goes on below. There are incredible views of either the Las Vegas Strip or the surrounding valley (and from some suites you can actually watch the planes take off and land at Harry Reid International Airport). The property offers condo-style accommodations but the suites also come with many of the amenities you'd expect of an upscale hotel. For example, relax your weary body in a whirlpool tub after a long day (or night) on the town. Plus, some of the suites have cool TVs that rise from the desks. Insider tips: As a guest of The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites you can take advantage of all the amenities at MGM Grand - like the Grand Pool complex. We recommend you do this because even though each tower at The Signature has its own heated outdoor pool, the one at MGM Grand is tricked out - it boasts five pools and a 1,000-foot-long lazy river. If you're hungry and don't feel like going over to MGM Grand or the Strip, try Delights. This deli located in the second tower serves a lot more than just sandwiches. You can get a good skillet scramble for breakfast or one of several different pastas for dinner. And when you're looking to relax with a drink, check out The Lounge, a swanky bar located in the first tower.   Got a coffee craving? Now there's a coffee maker in your suite, but if you don't feel like brewing your own cup, head to Delights. Good to know: Regarding those fabulous balconies, you'll have to drag a chair out if you want to sit outside. There's no patio furniture on them. Thanks to the guarded gate, it can feel strange arriving at The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites the first time. You'll be given a pass there and told which tower you're in. There is no self-parking area at The Signature, but self-parking is available at MGM Grand. Parking fees will apply. Speaking of walking, expect to do a fair amount when you stay at The Signature. Consisting of three identical towers, it typically takes at least 10 minutes to walk from the farthest one to MGM Grand. The towers are all linked together and connected to the megaresort via moving walkways. Of course, MGM Grand is huge in itself, so once you get there you'll have to do more walking. Oddly enough, even though the suites at The Signature come with either kitchenettes or full kitchens, you're not going to find any dishware, silverware or cooking utensils in them. You'll have to ask at the front desk on arrival or call the concierge to get those delivered. There is no charge for this, and you may request any number of plates, glasses, pots, pans and more that you desire. This is a non-smoking hotel. Guests who light up in their room will be assessed a cleaning fee upon checkout. Smoke in designated areas, such as MGM Grand's casino next door.
