Where to stay in Queenscliff

About Queenscliff

A peninsula speckled with quaint houses from the Victorian era, Queenscliff is an adorable seaside town known for its historic shop fronts, rocky outcrops and prominent piers. Queenscliff is surrounded on three sides by water, offering an abundance of sandy beaches.

Things to do

Are you a history buff? Visit the Fort Queenscliff Museum to tour a 19th-century Coastal Artillery Fort. Walk around the keep, view a variety of historic artefacts and try on authentic period uniforms.

Embark on a memorable ride on the Blues Train for a unique dining and entertainment experience. The venue provides dinner and a show, including a hearty meal, drinks and four live music performances put on in different carriages. The journey takes you along the old Geelong Line with stops at the Suma Park Homestead and Winery and Drysdale.

If you’re looking for some scenic views of the waterfront, stroll down to Queenscliff Harbour where you will find rows of boats docked along a boardwalk. Enjoy browsing the quaint retail shops, book a boat charter for some fun out in the water or stop in and dine at one of the waterfront cafes. Soak up the panoramic ocean views from the top of the 42-metre-tall Queenscliff Harbour observation deck.

The harbour boasts a plethora of whale and dolphin-watching experiences. If you want a closer look, rent snorkelling or diving equipment and head out onto the water for up-close views of marine life beneath the surface.

Getting around

The Bellarine Highway is the only way into Queenscliff, connected to both Point Lonsdale and Geelong. The easiest way of getting around the city is by car or taxi. For a scenic way to see the area, hop on the Searoad ferry to Sorrento.
