About Linton, England

Located on the banks of the River Granta, Linton is a historic village in Cambridgeshire, not far from the border with Essex. It was recorded in the 1086 “Domesday Book” and is located along the Icknield Way, a long-distance trail that follows the route of one of Britain’s oldest roads.

In the heart of Linton is St Mary's Anglican Church, which has stood at its current site for more than 800 years. Admire the Grade II-listed Linton House built by John Lone and soak up the sweeping views across the surrounding countryside from the Rivey Hill Water Tower.

Travelling with kids? Don’t miss the Linton Zoo, a family-friendly wildlife park home to African lions, snow leopards and Amur tigers. You can get up close to crowned lemurs and Hartmann’s zebras, as well as hornbills and colourful macaws. Behind-the-scenes keeper experiences are also on offer.

Getting there

Linton is around 15 minutes’ drive from Cambridge and 1.5 hours from the centre of London. Heathrow Airport is also 1.5 hours away and has flights to destinations across the globe. Buses connect to Linton and the village is small enough to explore on foot.
