About Earls Court

Earls Court is a multifaceted neighbourhood located in the heart of London. It is its own district in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, bordering the subdistricts of the Kensington divisions and Chelsea to the South. The district is characterised by a luxurious east site composed of wealthy residents and a fierce west side of dining, art, and nightlight.

The Earls Court Exhibition Centre is the icon of the district, an international hosting site for renowned events including the Royal Tournament, Earls Court Motor Show, Ideal Home Show, and Crufts Dog Show. It’s most notable for its sleek modern design and Art Deco facade. Earls Court provides convenient pedestrian access to High Street Kensington, Holland Park, and the Natural History, Science, and Victoria and Albert Museums. The district boasts its own local theatre as well as an innumerable variety of restaurant and bar hotspots.

The Earls Court Area is served by two prominent tube stations, respectively the Earl's Court tube station and the West Brompton station. Most of the area’s attractions are within walking distance.

The populated district began as a rural area of fields and gardens under Saxon rule. It was not until the 1860s with the enactment of the Metropolitan District Railway station that Earls Court began to develop into a metropolitan area.
