About Passau

Set at the junction of three rivers, Passau is one of the most picturesque cities in Germany. Over the centuries, the Danube, Inn and Ilz Rivers have brought incredible prosperity to Passau and is reflected in its grand architecture, churches and castles. Things to do in Passau

The Altstadt occupies a narrow peninsula and is criss-crossed with cobbled lanes and alleys. Strolling around the old town, you’ll be enchanted by pastel-coloured Gothic, Baroque and Italianate buildings.

From chef-driven restaurants to cosy bistros, Passau offers some of the best dining experiences in Bavaria. Enjoy coffee and cake at an atmospheric café and dine al fresco in one of the sunny plazas. Be sure to sample regional dishes such as “schweinshaxn” roasted ham hock, “leberknödelsuppe” liver dumpling soup and “obatzter” cheese dip.

Getting around Passau
