Chicago O’Hare International Airport, often simply called “O’Hare”, is one of the busiest airports in the United States. With around 2,400 aircraft movements per day on average, O’Hare serves close to 80 million passengers per year.
Chicago O’Hare International Airport is a major hub for American and United, two of the largest airlines in the United States. It comprises four terminals numbered 1, 2, 3 and 5. Terminal 5 is the international terminal, with the other three focusing on domestic flights.
Chicago is a city obsessed with good food, so it should come as no surprise that its main airport boasts many enticing eateries. Tortas Frontera, a creation by chef and restaurateur Rick Bayless, serves modern Mexican food. For a taste of another iconic Chicago treasure, sample German schnitzel and bratwurst at Berghoff Cafe O’Hare.
Getting there
Chicago has one of the most user-friendly public transportation systems in the United States, making it easy to access the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The CTA’s blue line train goes directly to and from the airport, connecting directly to downtown Chicago. Expect the train ride to the city center to take around 45 minutes, about 10 minutes longer than a taxi.
