About Dokka

Dokka offers a taste of life in the Norwegian countryside. The friendly village welcomes you with tree-lined streets and beautiful views of the surrounding hillsides and pastures. You’ll find everything you need in the bustling village centre, including a wide selection of shops, cafes and restaurants.

The Lands Museum charts the rich history and heritage of the village. Admire traditional Norwegian folk costumes and view works by Peder Aadnes, one of the country’s most famous Rococo painters. The open-air section is dotted with historic buildings from throughout the centuries, including medieval thatch-roof huts and 19th-century stone cottages. Enjoy coffee and cake at the museum café and browse books, jewellery and handmade crafts at the gift shop.

Winter snowfall transforms Snauhaug Skistadion into one of the most popular cross-country ski destinations in the region. Explore the family-friendly trails and warm up with a hot chocolate or blackcurrant toddy at the cosy ski cabin.

Getting there

Dokka is located in the Nordre Land municipality in Innlandet county. The village is a 2.5-hour drive from Oslo or 3.5 hours taking the train to Gjovik, then a bus onwards to Dokka. Oslo Airport is a two-hour drive south.
