About Ustka

Ustka is a lively fishing port and seaside resort on the Baltic coast. Holidaymakers flock to bask on the sandy beaches, swim in the crystal-clear water and dine at seafood restaurants. Activities like sailing cruises and tours of historic World War II bunkers make Ustka a great family-friendly destination.

Things to do in Ustka

The River Slupia flows through Ustka and empties into the Baltic Sea. There are beaches on both sides of the river where you can swim, sunbathe and build sandcastles. Eastern Beach is the most popular stretch of sand and is lined with a breezy waterfront promenade. There are also plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants where you can enjoy Polish classics like “pierogi” dumplings and “polskie nalesniki” crepes stuffed with cheese and topped with berry compote.

Built in the late 1800s, the red brick Ustka Lighthouse is a local landmark. The 22-metre-tall lighthouse is instantly recognisable from its octagon-shaped tower and decorative face. From the top of the lighthouse, you can enjoy sweeping views over the harbour and the Baltic Sea.

Cruises on Ustka’s galleon style ship are a signature experience. The 45-metre-long vessel was inspired by 17th-century warships and will take you on a leisurely sail around the harbour. Look for the ferocious winged dragon figurehead on the ship’s bow.

Descend into the Bluecher Bunkers Ustka to discover well-preserved concrete tunnels and shelters used by German soldiers in World War II. After touring the bunkers, head to the on-site café for a bowl of the museum’s famous “grochowka” split pea soup.
