Where to stay in Unayzah

About Unayzah

Unaizah offers a captivating blend of desert scenery and authentic Saudi Arabian culture, from colourful bazaars to Bedouin houses and desert camel safaris. Unaizah is also a gateway to Saudi Arabia's Al Qassim region, where you'll find golden sand dunes and shimmering salt lakes.

Things to do

Set in the heart of Unaizah, Al Mosawkaf Market is brimming with stalls selling colourful spices, gleaming jewellery and local handicrafts. It's a great place to pick up a souvenir and bargain for keepsakes, gifts and trinkets.

The Al Bassam Heritage House offers a hands-on glimpse at life in Saudi Arabia. It's perched on the edge of Unaizah's Old City and was built using traditional Arabian clay techniques. The archetypal home features a men's reception hall, family living area, kitchen garden and livestock barn.

Venture out of the city to discover Unaizah's enchanting Salt Valley. After rainfall, the valley is encrusted with a thin layer of gleaming white salt that sparkles in the sunshine. You can also explore the rolling dunes to its north and west, which are known locally as the “Al-Ghamis Sands”.

Thanks to its desert setting, Unaizah is a fantastic base for enjoying traditional Bedouin experiences. Overnight camel safaris offer a unique chance to explore the sand dunes, sleep under the stars and devour delicious Saudi Arabian campfire cuisine. You can also sign up for falcon encounters and visit traditional desert villages.

Getting around

The Unaizah city centre is easy to get around on foot, while the city is also well-serviced by local buses and taxis. Buraydah's Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport is 30 minutes from Unaizah.
