About Tsawwassen

Wedged between Boundary Bay and the Strait of Georgia, Tsawwassen is a lively suburban town on the outskirts of Vancouver. It boasts attractive green spaces and coastal trails and is near a bird-filled sanctuary and a berry winery.

Things to do in Tsawwassen

Cycle or walk along the 12 Ave Dyke Trail, which extends along the shores of Boundary Bay Regional Park. Explore the lagoons and tidal flats of Centennial Beach or swim during summer while keeping an eye out for birds above.

Travelling with kids? They’ll love the grassy lawns and playgrounds of Diefenbaker Park, which occupies a former gravel mining site. It’s home to the WaterWorks Playground where they can cool off in the heat and is also a popular destination for sledding and tobogganing during winter.

Bird watchers should visit the George C. Reifel Bird Sanctuary, which hugs the western end of Westham Island. Cross the historic wooden swing-bridge that spans the Fraser River to spot wild Canadian geese and hundreds of ducks. Alternatively, experience one of the birds of prey flight shows at the sanctuary’s rehabilitation facility.

Afterwards, stop at the Angel Estate Winery, which boasts a tranquil setting amidst heritage berry farms on Westham Island. Join a guided tasting to sample their delicious berry wines, including raspberry, tayberry and white currant, along with the plum and blackberry dessert wines.
