About Taguig

Once a sleepy fishing town on the shores of Laguna de Bey, Taguig is now a thriving city in the south-east of Metro Manila. It’s home to several military cemeteries that reflect the Philippines’ tumultuous past, as well as the bustling financial district of Bonifacio Global City.

Things to do in Taguig

You can pay your respects at the Cemetery of the Heroes, which lies within the headquarters of the Philippine Army at Fort Andres Bonifacio. Established in 1947, it was originally dedicated to Filipino soldiers who fought during World War II and is now the official burial place of Philippine presidents and national heroes. Nearby is the Manila American Cemetery, which features a whitewashed chapel and 25 mosaic maps.

One of Taguig’s most impressive religious landmarks is the Saint Anne Parish Church, which was originally established in 1587 by Spanish colonists. Now heritage-listed, it houses the Museo de Santa Ana where you’ll find artefacts detailing the area’s cultural history. Coincide your visit with the church’s annual Santa Anang Banak Taguig River Festival, which is famed for its water-based parade.

Kids and adults alike will be inspired by the Mind Museum, which is packed with interactive exhibits exploring the worlds of science and art. You can get up close to a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton or step inside the Technology Gallery to discover why humans are the way we are. Combine your visit to the Mind Museum with a stop at the Venice Piazza, an outdoor shopping mall with Italian-inspired architecture and a gondola-filled canal.
