About Sutivan

Escape the crowds and enjoy an idyllic island getaway in Sutivan. The sun-drenched town is built around a picturesque harbour framed by traditional stone houses. Stroll along the waterfront, dine at seafood taverns and soak in the Dalmatian charm. Use the town as a base to explore Brac, a postcard-perfect island just off the coast of Split.

Things to do in Sutivan

Sutivan is surrounded by stunning beaches like Plaza Likva, a picturesque cove with crystalline water and champagne-coloured sand. Bask in the sunshine or seek shade beneath a towering pine tree. Restaurants overlook the beach and serve fresh seafood and ice-cold drinks.

Make the journey south to Zlatni Rat, a drop-dead gorgeous beach fringed by white pebble sand and turquoise water. The peninsula juts into the Adriatic Sea and is one of the most photographed beaches in Croatia. Head to the clothing-optional section on the western side of the peninsula to banish tan lines. Windsurfers descend on Zlatni Rat in the afternoons when the famous “maestral” westerly picks up.

Spend the day in Supetar, the cultural and economic heart of Brac. The atmospheric Old Town is a maze of cobbled streets lined with cafes and boutiques. The Church of the Annunciation soars over the harbour and welcomes you with a magnificent white stone façade.

Sutivan is a gateway to Brac, one of the largest and most beautiful islands in Dalmatia. There are countless charming towns and villages to explore, not to mention breathtaking coastal scenery. The interior is a patchwork of rolling vineyards and orchards. Rent a bike and explore the island on two wheels or join a guided tour.

Getting around Sutivan

Sutivan is compact and easy to get around on foot. The village is on the north-west tip of Brac, a 10-minute drive from Supetar. Ferries run between Split and Supetar in around one hour. Rental cars offer the freedom to stay in Sutivan and explore Brac at your own pace.
