A joint civil-military airport in Wisconsin, Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport shares space with the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport Joint Air Reserve Station supporting Reserve and National Guard operations. It’s considered the busiest airport in the Upper Midwest, with 131 gates and two terminals named after renowned Minnesotans, Charles Lindbergh and Hubert Humphrey.
Amenities at the airport include at least 100 shops, eateries and services. Travelling with young children? Head to the play area or food court to find kid-friendly options. You can also stay at the on-site InterContinental Minneapolis - St. Paul Airport to enjoy its observation bar with views of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers.
Light rail trains connect the two terminals and there are storage lockers in the secure portion of Terminal 1. You can relax in two quiet areas on the Mezzanine Level of Terminal 1 or expend some pent-up energy on the 2.25-kilometre Start! walking path.
Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport is about 16 kilometres from downtown Minneapolis and Saint Paul, accessible by car using Minnesota State Highway 5. There’s short- and long-term parking as well as valet parking at Terminal 1. The Metro Rail provides transportation to both terminals, while Metro Transit buses service Terminal 1.
