About Latchi

Overlooking the waters of Chrysochou Bay, Latchi is a charming fishing village on the north-west coast of Cyprus that serves as a gateway to Akamas Peninsula National Park. It takes its name from the old Greek word for well (“lakki), with local farmers once bringing their livestock down from the hills to drink from the area’s water holes.

Spend your days relaxing on the picturesque beach at Latchi, which stretches to either side of the harbour. You can rent a boat to explore the rugged coastline or go cycling to Asprokremmos Beach before feasting on freshly caught seafood at one of the local tavernas.

Latchi makes an ideal base for visiting Akamas Peninsula National Park, which encompasses around 230 square kilometres of rugged gorges, rolling hills and beaches. Follow one of the designated nature trails to admire the park’s incredible rock formations and see the Baths of Aphrodite, then visit the turtle hatchery at beautiful Lara Bay.

Getting there

Latchi is around 1.5 hours’ drive from Limassol and two hours from Larnaca International Airport, which has flights to destinations across Europe. Having your own vehicle is the most convenient way of accessing Latchi and exploring the Akamas Peninsula.
