Things to do
Step back in time at Kings County Museum, which highlights the history of Kentville and Kings County in the old Kentville Courthouse. You can explore the Courtroom Exhibit where famous legal battles occurred, visit the Victorian Parlour and admire Nova Scotia glass.
Stretch your legs at Miner’s Marsh, a wetland habitat where birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts can enjoy its 1.7 kilometres of scenic trails. The Kentville Bird Sanctuary is another place to spot local wildlife near its shallow ponds and backwaters along the Cornwallis River.
Mingle with locals at the Kentville Farmers Market, where you can pick up handmade crafts and art made by local artists, or head to Kenney’s Farm to pick your own strawberries. If you’re looking for evening entertainment, check the calendar at the Centre Stage Theatre to see live plays and musicals.
Are you travelling with the family? Head to Memorial Park to enjoy its playground, tennis courts, baseball field and walking trail. You can also cool off at the Kentville Pool located in the park, which offers a splash pad for little ones.
You can access Kentville by flying into Halifax Stanfield International Airport, then making the 111-kilometre journey by car, while Prince Edward Island is a four-hour drive away. The town is easily explored on foot, but a car is needed to travel further afield.
