About Jizan

Stretching along the Red Sea coast, Jazan Province is anchored by Jazan, a lively city fringed by a breezy oceanfront promenade. You can cruise around uninhabited islands, hike forested mountain trails and soak in thermal hot springs.

Things to do

Sitting 50 kilometres offshore, the Farasan Islands are an important breeding site for local and migrating birds. They're also a haven for rare Arabian gazelles. Daily ferries whisk you to the islands, where you can hike scenic trails, stroll along the beach and discover ancient Turkish ruins. You can also dive and snorkel at the surrounding coral reefs.

Jazan Province is dominated by the mighty Fifa Mountains, which are enveloped in lush forest and laced with scenic hiking trails. After a long hike, you can unwind with a soak at the Al-Khoubah hot springs. They're known for their mineral-rich water and healing properties.

The Jizan Heritage Village offers an interactive glimpse at life in 15th-century Saudi Arabia. You can peer into traditional mud and stone houses, admire ancient rock art and stroll around an old souq. The open-air museum also features a collection of colourful handicraft exhibits.

From bustling souqs to gleaming malls, Jazan Province treats you to some of the best shopping in Saudi Arabia. Kadi Mall and Rashid Mall are brimming with specialty stores selling jewellery, perfumes and fashion. You'll also find a handful of local souqs and marketplaces scattered across the city. Haggle with locals for everything from fresh dates to handmade baskets.

Getting around

Rental cars are a fast and flexible way to explore Jazan Province. Jazan city is well-serviced by a network of local buses and taxis. Most travellers fly into Jizan Regional Airport, located around 10 kilometres from the city centre.
