About Fiji

Discover your very own slice of paradise in Fiji, a dreamy archipelago where you can bask on palm-fringed beaches, swim in turquoise lagoons and explore charm-soaked colonial port towns. Made up of more than 300 islands, this dreamy archipelago is ideal for families, couples and adventure seekers alike.

Things to do

Known for its sugar-white sand, crystalline water and swaying palms, Fiji boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. There are hundreds to choose from, including famous stretches of sand such as Natadola Beach on Viti Levu, Liku Beach in the Mamanuca Island Group and Seagrass Bay on Laucala Island.

Synonymous with barefoot luxury, Fiji is home to some of the world’s most luxurious beach resorts. From beautifully appointed over-water bungalows and breezy Balinese style villas to five-star hotels run by international brands, Fiji will satisfy your appetite for luxury.

Below the surface, Fiji enchants visitors with its vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. Throw on a mask and snorkel and explore the offshore reefs or join a scuba diving trip and head out to iconic dive sites such as Mantaray Island, Rainbow Reef and Namena Marine Reserve.

In the Fijian capital of Suva, there’s plenty of history and culture to soak up. Stroll around the town centre to admire the handsome British colonial architecture and learn about local traditions at the Fiji Museum. After dark, check out the lively bar and restaurant scene.

Beyond the beach, Fiji is a world-class destination for hiking and birdwatching. Also known as the Garden Island, Taveuni is brimming with lush jungle hiking trails. Some of the best can be found in the Bouma National Heritage Park. On the islands of Kadavu, you’ll find off-the-beaten-track wilderness trails that lead to tumbling waterfalls, sun-dappled coconut plantations and secret beaches.

Getting around

In addition to serving Fiji, Nadi International Airport is one of the biggest travel hubs in the South Pacific Islands region. It’s located on the main island of Viti Levu, a 3.5-hour drive from Suva. Flying is often the fastest and easiest way to hop between islands, while many luxury resorts also offer private helicopter and seaplane transfers.
