About Cotai

Created by joining the islands of Coloane and Taipa, Cotai sits on newly reclaimed land near Macau International Airport. It centres around the “Cotai Strip”, which is lined with lavish casino-resorts and recreated global landmarks and is home to global restaurants and a family-friendly water park.

Things to do in Cotai

Running north to south through Cotai is the “Cotai Strip”, a neon-lit route dominated by extravagant hotel-casinos. Admire the European-inspired architecture of the Venetian Macao, which is one of the largest casinos in the world and directly faces the City of Dreams. This modern resort is home to an impressive water fountain and a virtual aquarium and hosts acrobatic shows in the Dancing Water Theatre.

You can climb the Eiffel Tower without journeying to France at the Parisian Macao, which features a half-scale replica of this iconic monument. Take in the views across Cotai from one of its two observation platforms, then soak up the French atmosphere in the hotel-casino’s elegant lobby. The Parisian Macro also boasts its own shopping arcade with designer fashion stores.

Travelling with kids? Head to the Studio City Water Park, which is packed with rides, waterslides and themed pools. Experience the near-vertical drop of the “Tornado” water slide and the twists of the “Super Typhoon” before racing your family and friends down the “Storm Chaser”. In addition to a rainforest-themed lazy river ride, there are several eateries serving burgers and ice cream.

Getting around Cotai

Cotai is a five-minute drive from Macau International Airport and is connected to destinations across Macau by bus. High-speed catamaran ferries travel between the Taipa Ferry Terminal and the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal. The “Cotai Strip” can easily be explored on foot.
