About Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is not only the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia but also rests on Australia’s most south-westerly point. The famous landmark has stood proud and powerful at the tip of Cape Leeuwin since 1895 and remains a vital guide of mariners navigating the treacherous cape.

Climb to the top of the lighthouse for a spectacular view of the Southern and Indian oceans. As you watch the waves crash dramatically along the rocky coastline, your guide will take you on a journey through Western Australia’s maritime history.

Allow time for a closer look on the wooden boardwalk, where you can feel the full force of the ocean and see whales migrating between May and September. Learn more about the lighthouse's rich history at the Lighthouse Welcome Centre and grab a bite to eat at Cape Leeuwin Café.
