Where to stay in Caorle

About Caorle

Overlooking the Adriatic Sea on the outskirts of Venice, Caorle is an attractive cliffside town that was founded by the Ancient Romans. It’s home to a fresco-filled cathedral and a sanctuary associated with seafaring miracles, as well as one of the most popular water parks in Italy.

Things to do

Marvel at the 11th-century St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a Romanesque-style church in Piazza Vescovado that’s Caorle’s oldest building. It’s topped by an iconic 50-metre-high bell tower and the interior is filled with magnificent frescoes and sacred sculptures.

Don’t miss the Santuario della Madonna dell’Angelo, which overlooks the sea on the eastern side of Caorle’s cliff. It’s long been associated with miracles in the town and features sacred relics, a beautifully frescoed ceiling and verses of ancient seafaring prayers.

Travelling with kids? Spend a day at Aquafollie, a family-friendly water park packed with slides and swimming pools. Let loose in the new Fisherman’s Bay themed area, bounce in the Bubble Pool, slide down the Kamikaze, and swim in the simulated wave pool.

Make a day trip to the charismatic city of Venice, which centres around the palace-lined Grand Canal and the bustling central square of Piazza San Marco. Explore the Gothic-style Doge’s Palace and admire the gilded domes of Saint Mark’s Basilica before discovering the vibrant fishermen's houses and lace-making traditions of Burano.

Getting around

Caorle is around one hour’s drive from Venice Marco Polo Airport and Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport in Trieste. The town is easily explored on foot, with buses also travelling throughout Caorle.
