Hugging the Wadden Sea, East Frisia is a spectacular coastal region in Lower Saxony. On the opposite side of the East Frisia Peninsula is Emden, home to the former Guinness World Record-holding Leaning Tower of Suurhusen. It’s also the birthplace of the beloved German comedian Otto Waalkes, who is celebrated at Dat Otto Huus.

Getting there
East Frisia can be accessed from Bremen Airport, which has flights to destinations across Europe. Regular trains connect to Emden, Wilhelmshaven and Norden while buses travel throughout the region. Having your own vehicle is the most convenient way of exploring East Frisia.
