About Bugibba

Located on Malta’s northern coastline, Bugibba is a small village with towering hotels overlooking a seaside promenade. Along Bugibba’s shoreline sits a town square where local students and travellers go to experience popular restaurants, bars and clubs.

Things to do in Bugibba

You’ll spend a lot of time strolling Bugibba’s scenic seaside promenade. Running from Salina Bay to St Paul’s Bay, the promenade overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and flat rocks popular with sunbathers. Playgrounds and cafes are also found along the promenade, as well as a pristine artificial beach and the remains of the Bugibba Battery fortification.

Bugibba’s town square is lined with nightlife spots boasting a Mediterranean vibe. The Oracle Casino offers late-night table games and slot machines, as well as access to a historic megalithic temple. Cinemas, bingo halls and karaoke bars provide a wide range of nightly entertainment for all ages.

During the day, you can learn to scuba dive at one of the schools around Bugibba, which have some of the country’s most experienced divers. A short walk down to the neighbouring village of Qawra reveals the rocky Ta Fra Ben Bay, which has clear water perfect for snorkelling.

From Bugibba, jump on one of the local buses to reach Malta’s popular attractions including the World Heritage-listed town of Mdina, first inhabited in 700 BC. Valletta is Malta’s capital city, a living museum of Baroque architecture and military fortifications that are only 40 minutes away via bus.

Getting around Bugibba

Staying in Bugibba places you within easy walking distance of Malta’s beaches, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The city’s small size also means public buses and taxis grant access to almost the entire country for a small fee. Travelling from Malta’s main island to Gozo requires a ferry, which takes about 20 minutes.
